When I crowd-sourced for a new logo, I was pretty specific about what I wanted. I had an image of a mandala in my head and hoped one of the designers would “get it”. I received over one hundred submissions from all over the world; places like Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan. Of course there is a difference between liking the idea of a design and understanding what it means, so I researched and found the following information:
The mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Indian religions, representing the universe. It is a tool for gaining wisdom and compassion. The mandala serves as a tool for guiding individuals along the path to enlightenment.
The colors of purple and blue represent these ideas to me: The royal purple being my signature trade color and also this quote from Ina May Gaskin, “If a woman doesn’t look like a goddess during labor, then someone isn’t treating her right.” The blue is my take on “sky’s the limit”; “For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Phillippians 4:13
All these things resonate with me in my work with women as they become mothers and with families as they are created or grown. Pregnancy, birth, and parenthood are all special, and to some, spiritual journeys. It is my joy and pleasure to work alongside families, providing knowledge and compassion, as their lives are transformed by their beautiful creations.
I am pleased to present the new branding for Blessed Birth, LLC an antenatal wellness and birth doula service in Tucson, Arizona!
